Taking the Jihad Temperature - A Gathering Storm Special Series - APPEASEMENT

If you throw a frog into boiling water, he will jump out. If you put it in cold water and slowly turn up the heat, he will not notice the rise in temperature and will eventually boil. 

The Islamists are boiling our frog and though this blog and hundreds like it record almost daily the rise in the Jihad temperature, unless we see how far and fast the temperature has risen, we will not know how far along our boiling has progressed. 

So, the Gathering Storm will be posting only once a week but these weekly posts will take the Jihadist temperature by looking back at news and events over the last two years. Over the next several weeks in the areas of intimidation, infiltration, disinformation and those appeasers and apologists who either knowingly or unknowingly advance the Jihad agenda, the Gathering Storm will show how far our frog has been boiled. 

By seeing the boiling water around us, we can see how far the boiling has progressed. 

The good news is that we are noticing that the water is getting warmer. There is a glimmer of awareness here - a glimmer of hope there. But we have a long way to go.

Rhode Island a CAIR Convert?

CAIR is at it again. Instead of helping project this county against terrorists who would harm Muslims and non-Muslims alike, they are proposing to tie the hands of law enforcement even further. The CAIR-promoted ERPA federal legislation would generally prevent police from inquiring about someone's immigration status or demanding documentation.

Now the legislative appeasers in Rhode Island are getting into the act.

PROVIDENCE -- Police would be prohibited from asking passengers of a car for identification after a traffic stop unless criminal activity is suspected, under an antiracial-profiling bill announced by state legislators yesterday. The bill also would require police to document in writing their grounds for searching a vehicle and would bar officers from asking about immigration status, except in certain circumstances. "This legislation is aimed at taking the bias out of traffic stops by creating standards for every officer in the state to follow," said Representative Joseph Almeida, a retired Providence police officer who is filing the bill along with Senator Rhoda Perry.

And here’s the proponents’ rational for the bill.

They said the legislation was in response to incidents last summer and fall they contend were racially motivated. In July, a state trooper stopped a van carrying Guatemalan nationals on Interstate 95 and temporarily detained the vehicle. The van, initially pulled over for failing to use a turn signal when switching lanes, was escorted to a federal immigration office in Providence after the driver and passengers were unable to show proof of their US citizenship. The new legislation would prohibit authorities from using a minor traffic violation as a pretext for stopping a vehicle for other reasons.

From the ‘Get a Clue’ Department - Curbing Political Islam Backfiring.

The hand wringing continues from the appeasers and apologists who just can’t understand why all their efforts at ‘integrating’ Muslim youth into mainstream non-Muslim society is not working.

The extent of the growth in extremism was made clear last year by Britain's domestic spy chief who said security services were monitoring 1600 mostly UK-born suspects.

Then there’s this study.

The study found 37 per cent of 16-24-year-old Muslims would prefer to live under Islamic sharia law than under British law compared to just 17 per cent of those aged over 55.

There was also far greater support for exhibiting their religious identity in public with 74 per cent of young Muslims preferring women to wear a veil or hijab compared to 28 per cent of the older generation. Thirteen per cent of those aged 16-24 also agreed with the statement that they "admire organisations like al Qaeda that are prepared to fight the West" as opposed to just 3 per cent in the 55 and over age bracket.

Hmmm…Yes there is definitely a problem.The report said growing religiosity among young Muslims reflected a "search for meaning and community", a sense of disengagement that was shared by young people generally.

Yes, many youths in Britain and the free world are looking for "search for meaning and community. What else is new that’s been going on since the 60s. But non-Muslim youths in their “search for meaning and community" are not blowing up subway trains.

Why is it only Muslim youths radicalized to the extent that they would kill their fellow citizens? Because there’ fertile ground and that fertile ground is nurtured and by one thing and one thing only.

That fertile ground is ready and waiting to be tilled by the seeds of hate planted by extremist imams like those in the UK in mosques reported by the British CH 4. And that fertile ground is nurtured by multiculturalism. Multiculturalism teaches self-loathing and self-hatred of the dominant (read Judeo-Christian) culture. Or in the words of Daniel Pipes “Significant elements in several Western countries — especially America, Britain, and Israel — believe their own governments to be repositories of evil and see terrorism as just punishment for past sins. This "we have met the enemy and he is us" attitude replaces an effective response with appeasement, including a readiness to give up traditions and achievements. Osama bin Laden celebrates by name such leftists as Robert Fisk and William Blum. Self-hating Westerners have an outsize importance due to their prominent role as shapers of opinion in universities, the press, religious institutions, and the arts.”

Is it any wonder that Muslim youths raised in a cultural atmosphere that teaches Western Culture is decadent and responsible for all the ills in the world to not grow up disillusioned with it? Then when that belief is used properly by Islamist imams to plant their seeds of hate, is it no surprise that Muslim youths will turn on their culture?

By being color blind, ethnic blind, cultural blind, gender blind and religious blind – we become totally blind to the threat in front of us.

Listen UP! An Appeaser Dictates the Rules for Reporting Islam

Media Workers Against the War has compiled the following set of rules, which they believe should hang on toilet doors throughout media land.

Now pay attention all you Muslim hating, Islam bashing, Islamophobic bigots!! Here are the rules.

Rule 1. We have to examine and question Islam so we can understand what’s wrong with it. This is called “investigative reporting”.

Rule 2. If you are unsure what Islam is, highlight whatever looks unfamiliar and odd. This is called “objective reporting”.

Rule 3. If you say someone is a Muslim, this is generally an adequate description of what they are like as a person, i.e. irrational, backward, and slightly unbalanced. This is called “revealing the Islamic mind” or “Islamic personality”.

Rule 4. If some bleach, nail-varnish or castor beans are found on a Muslim, these are deadly bomb-making materials so make sure this is headline news. If the stash is found on a white person it is not worth reporting. This is called “being topical”.

Rule 5. The media are not interested in whether a criminal is black or white as this could be against the Race Relations Act. However if he/she is a Muslim then make sure this is the headline story. This is called “working within the law”.

Rule 6. While Islam clearly has nothing to do with race, Muslims are to blame for stoking up racial tension because they insist on being different from the rest of us. To illustrate the point, if someone says some Asians are involved in violence, make sure you look for a Muslim angle. This is called “setting the news agenda”.

Rule 7. If a woman wears a hejab or niqab, she is making a statement about her rejection of Western liberal values and her submission to Muslim men. She is most likely an extremist and may use her clothes to conceal bombs or escaped terrorists. Media campaigns against the veil are known as “defending women’s rights”.

Rule 8. To be considered “moderate”, Muslims must apologise for their faith and declare their support for the war on terror. But they can slip back into extremism at any moment. It is our job in the media to constantly warn about this danger. This is called “performing a public service”.

Rule 9. To emphasise point (8), make sure you prominently report the views of Muslims who praise the 9/11 attacks. This is called “balanced reporting”.

Rule 10. If Arabs resist Israel, or oppose the USA and Britain in Iraq, it is because of their sectarian, religious convictions, not for any political, civil or social reasons. As for the Afghans, anyone resisting us is clearly a Taliban and therefore basically a fascist.

Rule 11. Fundamentalism equals Islam equals everything-we-must-now-fight-against, as we did with communism during the Cold War or Nazism during World War II. In this battle, anything goes. This is called “defending our values”.

Rule 12. Islam is an archaic religion with archaic practices that do not exist in Christianity. We are advanced, normal, rational, sane, sensible, good, right. They are backward, abnormal, strange, fanatical, bad, wrong.

Rule 13. If you don’t agree with these rules, you are a dangerous extremist and an apologist for terrorism.

Now straighten up and fly right – oops – I mean Left.

Google Joins the Media Jihad

What’s with Google? Will we be seeing a turban on the ‘Os’ of the Google logo soon or perhaps Google written in Arabic? Or perhaps there’s more to Google’s blatant attempts at censorship than we think.

In recent weeks, YouTube has deleted many videos that are critical of terrorism and violence from Islamists, including videos that just quote from the Koran and expose the political ideology within the Islamic religion.

DhmmiWatch has outed this recent example of Google censorship and said “All the video does is quote from the Qur'an, but apparently that alone was too much; while Gisburne also posted anti-Christian videos, it is reportedly the video concerning Islam that got him banned.”

 

At YouTube, You can say pretty much whatever you want, as long as it's not about Islam. If that's not true, YouTube user Nick Gisburne begs to differ after his account – his entire account – was deleted for its "inappropriate content."

What exactly did he say? Not much at all, in fact. He let the Koran speak for itself.

Gisburne is a self-described atheist with, at least from the one video, a deep questioning of Muslim claims about the Koran. To express his doubts about Islam being a religion of peace, Gisburne created a 10-minute video, entitled "Islamic Teachings" that was nothing but violent quotations taken from the Koran instructing followers to kill nonbelievers and speed their way to Hell where Allah will torture them forever.

It would seem quoting the holy book in a sort of testament against itself was over the line for someone working at Google-owned YouTube. Not only was the video deleted without any type of warning to the uploader, but the uploader's account was also deleted with only the explanation (or accusation) of submitting inappropriate content, a category usually reserved for nudity or video violence.

Over at Xooglers, a blog written by ex-Google employees, Ron Garret says this doesn't reflect well on Google.

 

This really bothers me for four reasons. First, to deem quotations from a holy text to be "inappropriate content" is outrageous on its face. Second, Gisburne was given no warning. Third, YouTube didn't just delete the video in question, they deleted Gisburne's entire account. And fourth, this makes a mockery of Google's "don't be evil" slogan. There can be no possible reason for this action other than caving to intimidation, and sanctimonious cowardice in the face of oppression is a particularly pernicious breed of evil.

It seems Google has joined the ranks of the Islamists and are waging a media jihad on their behalf.

Is that correct Google?

US Judge Orders American Children to be Indoctrinated into Islam

Here are the facts as presented at the Americans Against Hate site.

This is the case of Rosine Ghawji, a woman who unknowingly married and had two children with a man who, through his family and acquaintances, was involved in international terrorism. Originally from Syria, Maher Ghawji, Rosine's husband, is an admitted Wahhabist and member of the violent Muslim Brotherhood. Maher's brother, Haitham Ghawji, is linked to Al-Qaida and has trained for jihad in Afghanistan and has fought in Bosnia. Maher Ghawji's hatred towards Jews borders on obsession. He has told his sons that he wants to "get rid" of all Jews and that he wishes for at least one of his sons to become a suicide bomber. Maher Ghawji is currently romantically involved with Areej Zufari, the Spokesperson for the Islamic Society of Central Florida (ISCF), an umbrella organization for seven mosques in the Orlando, Florida area with various ties to radical Islam. According to Maher Ghawji's sons, he (Maher), on a number of occasions, has told them (his sons) that he would be happy to blow them up for the sake of Allah; Maher Ghawji has, as well, tried to obtain their passports, in an attempt to take the boys to Syria against their will. Maher Ghawji has also threatened to murder his wife, Rosine, who is Catholic.

Now, Maher Ghawji wants custody of his children. Rosine Ghawji wants desperately for that not to happen.

Now, thanks to Judge Donna M. Fields of Coral Springs, Florida, Rosine is about to be thrown out of her house, and her ex-husband will be made primary custodian of the children, in charge of their religious upbringing.

Americans Against Hate urges all who are concerned about the wellbeing of Rosine Ghawji and her children to rally to their cause. Blog on the internet, make phone calls, spread the word, and donate what you can. Joe Kaufman, Chairman of Americans Against Hate and author of the affidavit proving Maher Ghawji's terrorist ties, stated:

"Because of Mr. Ghawji's past actions and because of past statements he has made, we have reason to believe that Judge Fields, in her ruling, has placed these children's lives at risk. We call on everyone to take interest in this case and help Rosine and her children. The war on terrorism is not just overseas."

Christmas Carols Banned As Courtesy to Islam

Here’s more lunacy from the sensitive multiculturalists who respect every culture as long as it’s not Western culture. And Europe continues its unconscious passage into the dark night of dhimmitude.

Though Christmas is 8 months away, the traditional celebration of the birth of Christ in Italian school districts has become a raging controversy. Parents of pupils at the Casa del Bosco nursery school in the multi-ethnic Oltrisarco district of Bolzano have been informed that at the school's Christmas concert, the students will not be permitted to sing "Tu scendi dalle stelle" [From Starry Skies Thou Comest].

The school's teachers single-handedly made the decision to eliminate the carol to placate Muslim and other foreign born children, though they celebrate Chinese New Years and "learn about the significance of Ramadan."

The Italian newspaper Corriere Della Serra got it right, calling the move sublimating Christianity a "sacrifice" of the "baby Jesus on the altar of multiculturalism."

The town's Mayor Luigi Spagnolli called the matter "complete nonsense" and even the local Imam Breigeche Abulkeheir, said in an interview with Corriere Della Serra that "the figure of Jesus is holy for those who believe in the Koran, too."

A small voice of reason in a wilderness of insanity.

The Casa del Bosco is by no means the only educational institution undergoing this sort of revisionism, in Milan a study of the city's nursery schools revealed that 40% of them will not be displaying a nativity scene during the Christmas season.

Faced with this level of unexpected criticism, the Casa del Bosco school master tried to defend the teacher's actions stating that "Children from different cultures get on happily in our schools. I’d go further: coexistence and mutual respect help them to develop the mental openness that those who are fuelling the controversy perhaps lack" but clearly appeared to backing off somewhat from the school's previous position admitting that "There will be three Christmas carols" at the Christmas pageant, "I don’t know about the reference to baby Jesus but the children will certainly be singing Silent Night."

When caught in their act of dhimmitude, the multiculturalists backpedal with their kumbya rosy view of the world and then attack those who see the hypocrisy at “fuelling the controversy” with an insensitive lack of understanding.

Appeasers, Apologists and Cowards Strut Their Stuff for Jihadists

It was a busy week for appeasers, apologists and cowards who tirelessly find way to act as the Islamists’ useful idiots and undermine our country.

First we have the latest appeasement.

Stanford University will bar the media and general public from hearing the three ex-terrorists Walid Shoebat, Kamal Saleem and Zak Anani because – now get this – the University says their appearance "will be restricted to allow a free exchange of ideas" !!!

That’s right. According to one of the highest educational institutions of the land, they equate restrictions with free speech.

Megan Reiss, one of the college students helping to organize the event complains; "Stanford University Administration has gone out of their way to make the staging of this event as difficult as possible, and it has been a most frustrating experience. It seems there is a double standard in which the outside public and press have not been barred on other events where speakers openly support terror organizations like Hamas, Hezbollah and even Al Qaeda."

Next we have the apologist. And this lunacy is better than Stanford’s. Jihad Watch reports on a therapy plan for Terrorist suspects.

Psychological counseling and anger management. Of course! Why didn't anyone think of this before? This will solve that nasty old jihad problem in a jiffy! Poor dears -- they just have low self-esteem! The jihad ideology? What's that? From The Courier-Mail.

Terror suspects could be given taxpayer-funded counseling for being angry or having low self-esteem. Under the proposal, the Federal Government would provide psychological counseling and anger management support to terror suspects and those subject to control orders. But secrecy surrounds the initiative because the Australian Federal Police has refused to reveal the specifics of its proposal.

Scant details were released through a Federal Government question on notice.

"Some of the options considered include religious education, psychological support and assistance with issues such as anger management, low self-esteem, social identity and family separation," the AFP said, responding to a question on voluntary education programs for terrorists.

Finally we have our cowards.

The producer of a tax-financed documentary on Islamic extremism claims his film has been dropped for political reasons from a television series that airs next week on more than 300 PBS stations nationwide. Key portions of the documentary focus on Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser of Phoenix and his American Islamic Forum for Democracy, a non-profit organization of Muslim Americans who advocate patriotism, constitutional democracy and a separation of church and state.

Burke wrote that his documentary depicts the plight of moderate Muslims who are silenced by Islamic extremists, adding, “Now it appears to be PBS and CPB who are silencing them.”

And of course you know why. Fear of a jihadist response to their precious cowardly skins.

Blogger Justice or Leftist Justice?

I really try to believe that at the end of the day the Left is really a rational bunch. Most of my Lefty friends are. But every once in a while the moonbats within the ranks of the Left show they’re true colors.

A recent comment to a post from a liberal lefty on my blog ("Storm Track Disinformation: Terrorism? What Terrorism?") proves what I’m talking about. I was going to respond with a comment to his comment but thought such a revelation of LeftThink ‘clarity’ needed its own post.

You can read the whole comment at the post. But here’s the part the stuck me and revealed how certain Lefties really feel about the war against Islamism and how we are dealing with it.

I believe in justice here in America. I don't see any with this case. Furthermore, just because someone (Osama or whoever) claims responsibility for a crime (9/11), doesn't mean he's automatically guilty.

Huh?? I thought admitted confessions are proof positive in criminal cases. Is it the Left’s position that we’re to talk criminals out of confessions?

Criminal: “Yes, I killed him and cut up his body into tiny pieces. I’ll sign the confession and show you where I buried the parts.”

Police: “Now don’t be so hasty. You don’t want to say something that can be held against you in court.”

As Americans, we pride ourselves on impartiality. I want to see Osama brought to justice, same as Saddam, but I wouldn't let guys like you anywhere near him if he's taken into custody. I wouldn't trust you to administer justice. You're too emotional, too soft.

I see. According to the Lefty there are two kinds of justice - his and us blogger’s. But if he wants cold, calculated, unemotional and rational deliberance if OBL is caught and brought to trial, then leave it in the hands of the American justice system minus the input from bleeding heart liberals who care more for the ‘rights’ of perpetuators of a crime than the victims fate.

Blair Would Fight Terrorism - in the Universities?

Winston Churchill was a leading member of what is known today as ‘The Greatest generation’. Another war leader 60 years later, Tony Blair, has not learned the lessons of his courageous predecessor. Churchill saved Britain with courage and fortitude. Blair intends to save Britain with talk and money. From the Global Politician.

Can Blair's Million Pound Bill on Islam Save Britain?

Sure, one million pounds could to it—that’s a lot of loot—maybe if it had been offered twenty or thirty years ago. It’s too late now. About all it will do is buy more nails to pound into John Bull’s coffin. The Chicago Cubs have a better chance of winning the 2007 World Series than England has of surviving the 21st Century. But that doesn’t keep Tony Blair from trying. Blair addressed a conference of moderate Muslims in London last week in another last-ditch effort to save Merry Olde England from a fate worse than death. He pledged to spend one million pounds to improve the teaching of Islamic studies in Britain’s universities.

Poor deluded fool. Blair’s approach to Britain’s threat? Fight the enemy on the beaches and in the fields and in the streets as Churchill said he would do? No such luck. Blair is fighting England’s enemies in the universities!

Blair is a generation late and a trillions pounds short. One of every four Muslims residing in England believes the British government was responsible for the London bombings and just as many approve of suicide bombings to achieve religious ends. A half-century of political correctness and run-amok multiculturalism has destroyed England.

What you end up is drivel from Time Out London, an Internet entertainment magazine. There’s something telling and disturbing about the current state of Western Civilization when entertainment mouthpieces pontificate on socio-political issues. The magazine has been rhapsodic in its praise of Islam.

London’s future is Islamic, it says—and it’s a good thing. Time Out buttressed its argument with some interesting, if strange, observations. 1.The washing of hands and feet required before prayer promotes public hygiene. 2.Alcohol is haram—forbidden. Get rid of John Barleycorn and alcohol-related deaths and crimes would decline—indeed, become rare. 3 Some of the finest art in London is already Islamic. 4.By paying the Muslim zakat, a 2.5 percent welfare tax, poverty would end. London would be more just and less cruel. 5. Under Islam all ethnicities are equal. (Of course, Time Out was kidding—weren’t they?)

Global Politician has a different take on Time Out London’s idiotic speculation.

1. Psychiatrists have a word for the constant washing of hands (and feet). They call it obsessive-compulsive behavior. It is a mental disorder. It would be better to wash one’s hands after visiting the loo than before prayer—more hygienic.

2. Banning alcohol will not stop ‘honor killings’ and it will not stop suicide bombings until the last Jew is dead and maybe not even then. And what would Rooster Cogburn do if bitten by a snake?

3. Muslim doctrine is opposed to the artistic reproduction of the human body. There would be no Mona Lisa, no Whistler’s Mother…no Bamiyan Buddhas. And Music? It doesn’t matter whether it’s Snoop Doggy Do-Do or the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, nobody will be playing the zither in a mosque.

4. The zakat is spent exclusively on Muslims. No Hindus, no animists need apply. There was less cruelty per square inch on Jeff Davis’s plantation than there would be an Islamic London.

5. Time Out London concluded: Under Islam all ethnicities are equal. Once you have submitted to Allah you are a Muslim—it doesn’t matter what colour you are. End of story. (End of story? Isn’t that the way Archie Bunker ended arguments he couldn’t win?)

This type of muddy thinking assisted by the incessant appeasement by the main stream media would produce a news report on how D-Day would be reported today.

Mr. Blair and Prince Chuckles take note and learn from that greatest generation who knew the difference between compassion and weakness, courage and pacifism, conviction and relativism, and the commitment to absolute ideals and not moral equivalency.

If Britain is to survive the 21^st century it will need to weed out the appeasers, apologists and useful idiots from its cultural gene pool

If You Give an Islamist a Cookie…

Remember the children’s story ‘If You Give a Mouse a Cookie’?

Who would ever suspect that a tiny little mouse could wear out an energetic young boy? Well, if you're going to go around giving an exuberantly bossy rodent a cookie, you'd best be prepared to do one or two more favors for it before your day is through. For example, he'll certainly need a glass of milk to wash down that cookie, won't he? And you can't expect him to drink the milk without a straw, can you? By the time our hero is finished granting all the mouse's very urgent requests--and cleaning up after him--it's no wonder his head is becoming a bit heavy.

I guess Tony Blairs tawny education didn’t include the reading of Laura Joffe Numeroff's tale of warped logic. For example:

Launched by outgoing Prime Minister Tony Blair, a government report shows how British education may be further shaped by Islam. Among the reports recommendations: universities should help madrassas and Islamic student groups.

Now that’s extending an arm to Muslims in Britain. But is it enough? Nope. They want more than just a dhimmi cookie. Is a dhimmi cookie without without 'nuts'?

British Muslims SLAM UK Government & UK Schools Continue to Pander.

Muslim groups in Britain have branded the Government “duplicitous” for awarding Salman Rushdie a Knighthood in the Queen’s Birthday Honours. In a joint letter to The Guardian newspaper today, groups representing British Muslims including The Muslim Council of Britain, Islamic Human Rights, and the British Muslim Initiative, call the honour a “deliberate provocation and insult to the 1.5 billion Muslims around the world”.

The comments echo those made by Lord Ahmed following the announcement of the notorious author’s knighthood. Britain’s first Muslim peer said at the time: "It's hypocrisy by Tony Blair, who two weeks ago was talking about building bridges to mainstream Muslims, and then he's honouring a man who has insulted the British public and been divisive in community relations."

There is no other group in the UK, Europe or elsewhere that continually makes such outrageous demands and insulting accusations as the Muslims. Bad enough that they inflict their pre-medieval culture into our daily lives now they have decided that they should dictate who the UK government & HRH honours.

Judiciary chief: UK showing hostility to Islam

Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi said on Monday that the UK has constantly showed its hostility to Islam. Shahroudi also condemned the recent move by the UK Queen in warding knighthood title to apostate author Salman Rushdie.

He added, "This indicates the treacherous policy of the UK colonialist regime and its longstanding hostility to Islam." Pointing to the fact that all cultures and civilizations respect divine prophets and religions, he noted that such blasphemies are considered ugly and immoral worldwide. Shahroudi referred to Christian scholars, who wrote numerous books on the character of the Great Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and Imam Ali (AS), saying the UK government action in awarding apostate Salman Rushdie shows their weakness in facing Islam.

Well, at least he got that right. The UK is definitely weak dealing with Islam.
