Taking the Jihad Temperature - A Gathering Storm Special Series – INFILTRATION Part 4

If you throw a frog into boiling water, he will jump out. If you put it in cold water and slowly turn up the heat, he will not notice the rise in temperature and will eventually boil. 

The Islamists are boiling our frog and though this blog and hundreds like it record almost daily the rise in the Jihad temperature, unless we see how far and fast the temperature has risen, we will not know how far along our boiling has progressed. 

So, the Gathering Storm will be posting only once a week but these weekly posts will take the Jihadist temperature by looking back at news and events over the last two years. Over the next several weeks in the areas of intimidation, infiltration, disinformation and thoseappeasers and apologists who either knowingly or unknowingly advance the Jihad agenda, the Gathering Storm will show how far our frog has been boiled. 

By seeing the boiling water around us, we can see how far the boiling has progressed. 

The good news is that we are noticing that the water is getting warmer. There is a glimmer of awareness here - a glimmer of hope there. But we have a long way to go.

Storm Track Infiltration: American Children – Next Terrorist Target?

JR over at A Keyboard and a .45 recently wrote a chilling post. He speculated on some worrisome information and events that could lead to mass slaughter in our schools by terrorists.

Consider these points:

• According to two trainers at an anti-terrorism conference on the East Coast, preparations for attacks on American schools that will bring rivers of blood and staggering body counts are well underway in Islamic terrorist camps.
• The intended attackers have bluntly warned us they’re going to do it.
• They’re already begun testing school-related targets here.
• They’ve given us a catastrophic model to train against, which we’ve largely ignored and they’ve learned more deadly tactics from.

According to an article from PoliceOne.com, “We don’t know for sure what they will do. But by definition, a successful attack is one we are not ready for,” declared one of the instructors, Lt.Col. Dave Grossman. Our schools fit that description to a “T”—as in Terrorism and Threat.”

How do we know that the terrorist are targeting our schools? Todd Rassa, a trainer with the SigArms Academy and an advisory board member for The Police Marksman magazine, shared a full day’s agenda on the danger to U.S. schools at a recent three-day conference on terrorist issues, sponsored by the International Assn. of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI) in Atlantic City.

Al-Qaeda has publicly asserted the “right” to kill 2,000,000 American children, Rassa explained, and has warned that “operations are in stages of preparation” now. He played vivid videotapes confiscated in Afghanistan, showing al-Qaeda terrorists practicing the takeover of a school. The trainees issue commands in English, rehearse separating youngsters into manageable groups and meeting any resistance with violence. Some “hostages” are taken to the rooftop, dangled over the edge, then “shot.”

In this country this year [’06], Rassa said, there have been several school bus-related incidents involving Middle Eastern males that raise suspicion of terrorist activity. These include the surprise boarding of a school bus in Florida by two men in trench coats, who may have been on a canvassing mission, and the attempt in New York State by an Arab male to obtain a job as a school bus driver using fraudulent Social Security documents. The latter gave an address in Detroit, home to a large colony of fundamentalist Muslims. Rassa claimed that floor plans for half a dozen schools in Virginia, Texas and New Jersey have been recovered from terrorist hands in Iraq.

A “dress rehearsal for what terrorists plan to do to us” has already taken place, Rassa and Grossman agreed. That was the brutal takedown in 2004 of a school that served children from 6 to 17 years old in Beslan, Russia. Some 100 terrorists were involved, nearly half of whom were discreetly embedded in the large crowd of parents, staff and kids who showed up for the first day of school; the rest arrived for the surprise attack in SUVs, troop carriers and big sedans. Across a three-day siege, 700 people were wounded and 338 killed, including 172 youngsters.

What is the likely means of attack upon a school in the United States?

Probably not so many terrorists involved at a single location. Moving that big a contingent into place would likely attract too much attention and thwart the attack. Grossman describes a more likely possibility, in his opinion: Terrorist cells of four operatives each will strike simultaneously at four different schools. They’ll probably pick middle schools with no police officers on site, where the girls are “old enough to rape” but students are not big enough to fight back effectively.

The targets will probably be in states “with no concealed-carry laws and no hunting culture” and in communities where “police do not have rifles.” Rural areas may be favored, where 30 minutes or more could be required for responders to arrive in force.

The attackers will “mow down every kid and teacher they see” as they move in to seize the school. They’ll plant bombs throughout the buildings, and “ rape, murder and throw out bodies like they did in Russia.” Emergency vehicles responding and children fleeing will be blown up by car bombs in the parking lot.

In all, 100 to 300 children could be slaughtered in a first strike. Terrorists capable of this are already embedded in communities “all over America,” Grossman and Rassa agreed. More will probably gain entry surreptitiously from Mexico, making southern California potentially a prime target.

Now, a new book by Steven Emerson, Jihad Incorporated: A Guide to Militant Islam in the U.S.” puts some muscle and flesh to the bones of this theory. Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch reviews the book.

Are you aware of the al Qaeda plot to assassinate President Bush that was uncovered in 2005? Did you know that jihad terrorists in the U.S. financed the 1993 World Trade Center bombing partially through the sale of counterfeit T-shirts? Did you know that a professor at the University of South Florida in the 1990s was one of the international leaders of the terrorist group Palestinian Islamic Jihad and that he used his university activities as a cover while he raised money, gained recruits and disseminated propaganda for the jihad group? Had you heard that in May 2003, an American citizen living in Ohio pled guilty to conducting surveillance of the Brooklyn Bridge and other potential targets for al Qaeda?

These were not isolated incidents. In fact, they are just a few of the known activities of a huge jihad network that still operates in the United States, but of which few Americans are aware……..in his book [he] lays out evidence that jihadists are pursuing their goal of Islamic supremacism in myriad ways in America today, including through “advocacy groups, an array of disingenuous charities and foundations, corporate financing networks, and the halls of academia.” He and the staffers of his Investigative Project on Terrorism explain how al Qaeda continues to operate on our soil even after 9/11, how its operational strategy has evolved since then, and the extent of its American network.

Spencer knows his stuff.

But al Qaeda, of course, is not the only jihad organization operating on American soil today. Emerson explores the activities of many of them, including their actions within American mosques, their operations through charitable organizations and through the Internet and their involvement in money-laundering activities that allow terror financing to continue virtually unimpeded. At the same time, [Emerson] chronicles how American Muslim advocacy groups in Washington have worked to impede law enforcement endeavors against these operations at virtually every step—raising questions about their own larger goals. And of course, these advocacy groups have benefited from friends in high places. “Homegrown plotters, sleeper cells, intolerant and hateful imams, and their domestic apologists,” Emerson explains, “all seek to undermine the foundations of this country through a variety of means: rhetoric, fund-raising, and violence.

This is just what I’ve been saying. We’re so focused on the misnamed ‘war on terror’ that we are missing the more insidious jihadist tactics - the gathering storm of squalls, gales and tempests - that are less visible and less understood being practiced right under our noses.

Every anti-jihadist should read this book. I will.

Storm Track Infiltration: British Intelligence or Keystone Cops

Associated press reported that a third terror suspect absconds in Britain.

A terror suspect under police surveillance has disappeared, Britain's top law-and-order official said on Tuesday. The suspect was being monitored under the so-called control order regime, British Home Secretary John Reid said in a written statement to parliamentarians. Under the program, suspects who have not been charged are released from custody but remain under observation and can be electronically tagged, kept under curfew, denied the use of telephones or the Internet, and prohibited from meeting outsiders.

I guess state-of –the-art surveillance technology is not one of Britain’s string suits these days.

The suspect, whose identity is protected by an anonymity order, absconded earlier this month, Reid said. The man was the third terror suspect to disappear while being monitored under the control order.

Reid's announcement came as the government faced criticism for another Keystone Cop blunder.

On Sunday, the government said it was ordering a review of all criminal databases after acknowledging that files on hundreds of criminals were not entered into police computers. The government insists the mistake -- caused by a backlog in processing EU records at Britain's Criminal Records Bureau -- did not lead to any violent or sexual offenders being cleared to work with vulnerable people, such as children.

Right. They just don’t know where they are.

Reid took over at the Home Office in May after former Home Secretary Charles Clarke's dismissal when it was revealed that foreign criminals were released from prisons without being considered for deportation.

So, did it get better?

On Tuesday, David Davis of the opposition Conservative Party, said: "Far from getting a grip since John Reid took over, the Home Office has been marked by murderers walking out of open prisons and suspected terrorists escaping from control orders."

So goes the state of Britain today.

We notice that CAIR is featuring a list of "Top 10 CAIR Highlights of 2006" on their front page this New Year's Eve, so we thought we would remind our readers of what CAIR would prefer people not to remember about the year that was.

TROP's TOP 15 CAIR LOWLIGHTS of 2006

CAIR supports Sami al-Arian, who then pleads guilty to assisting Islamic terrorists.

CAIR goes to the mat for Iranian President Khatami, a noted anti-Semite and Hezbollah's chief sponsor.

CAIR shamelessly exploits Rosa Parks' image for a measly $1000 scholarship, while adamantly refusing to condemn the Sudanese genocide against Black Africans in Darfur.

CAIR is forced into a hasty site-makeover to remove prominent anti-Semitic articles after a Muslim goes on a deadly shooting rampage at a Seattle Jewish center.

CAIR denounces the pope's comments a dozen times, but not once the Muslim murder of an elderly nun (or the hundreds of other Christians butchered in the name of Islam in 2006).

CAIR is snubbed by liberal Senator Barbara Boxer, who rescinds an award to a CAIR official after finding out about the group's ties to terror.

CAIR condemns cartoons, but refuses to condemn Osama Bin Laden for a fifth straight year.

CAIR ruins Keith Ellison's Congressional career before he takes office.

CAIR refuses to denounce the killing of Americans by Islamic terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan.

CAIR promotes a list of "Fatwas against Terror" that actually includes advocates of Islamic terror.

CAIR is forced to drop their lawsuit against Anti-CAIR for calling it a terrorist front organization after realizing that it is one.

CAIR condemns the brief arrest of Hamas leaders in Gaza, but not the forced conversion of two U.S. journalists (nor 2,276 acts of Islamic terror in 2006 that resulted in the loss of innocent life).

CAIR fails to acknowledge the victims of 9/11 on the fifth anniversary of the attacks, choosing to mark it instead with a spasm of self-pity.

CAIR condemns the Israeli "massacre" of Palestinian civilians, then has to retract its statement after finding out that they were actually killed by Palestinian explosives.

CAIR protests when a woman is asked to lower her veil at Heathrow airport the day before it is revealed that a Muslim cop-killer escaped through the airport using the veil as a disguise (CAIR then stays quiet as Heathrow implements a full ban on veils.)

Maybe these ol’ acquaintances should NOT be forgotten.

Storm Track Infiltration: Financial Jihad in Dearbornistan

So what’s new in our most Muslim of US cities? Debbie Schlussel reports on a financial jihad scheme in Dearbornistan.

When I first heard news reports in the Detroit media that an area man was caught with $240,000 worth of counterfeit Nikes, I figured the man must be a Muslim and wondered whether the media would mention his name. It's well known that counterfeit items--especially counterfeit cigarettes, rolling papers, and apparel--fund terrorism. In the Detroit area, the counterfeit items--including designer perfumes, viagra, and batteries--have been traced to Hezbollah funding schemes. But they also are linked to funds for HAMAS and Al-Qaeda.

Nike is enraged that such a thing is happening with their product. Right? Nope, the little dhimmis are fooled again.

BTW, even though Muslims frequently counterfeit Nike products for terrorism financing, that hasn't stopped Nike from providing free Nike T-shirts to CAIR. It's a practice that began long ago when the group whined that a Nike design on a shoe looked like the Arabic for "Allah." It's been free Ts to CAIR from the Beaverton, Oregon shoe and apparel giant, ever since.

Storm Track Infiltration: August 1942 – Nazi Strategic Conference Held in Times Square – J. Edgar Hoover says, “That’s Cool.”

Ridiculous right? Can you see Heinrich Himmler, Joseph Goebbels, Hermann Goering and Martin Bormann holding a conference in New York to plan the next phase of the Nazi plan to take over the world and the FBI doing nothing to stop it – or the mains stream media even reporting it?

 

I say again, ridiculous right?

 

But that’s what’s happening in Australia. Hizb ut-Tahrir Australia, a Sunni group with terrorist ties that openly advocates overthrowing the Democratic Australian Government and replacing it with an Islamic caliphate is hosting a 'Khilafah Conference Program' on the 28th of January. ‘Khalīfah’ or Caliph is the term or title for the Islamic leader of the Ummah, or community of Islam. Khalīfah’ means "successor", that is, successor to the prophet Muhammad. Hat tip to the 910 Group.

That’s right, they are planning the return of the 'Khilafah right in the belly of a non-Muslim nation knowing that the infidels will not do a thing to stop them. But then again this is Australia, the land of PM Howard. Maybe, just maybe, something will be done about this conference.

Storm Track Infiltration: Malaysian Muslims March Towards Islamism

“If the camel gets his nose into the tent, the whole body will follow.”

– An Old Arab Proverb. 

Along with Turkey, Malaysia has been looked upon as an example of a moderate Muslim state. But that is changing and the secular vision of Malaysia is being faced with the ‘writing on the wall’. I’ve written about the threat of Islamism to Malaysia’s secular society before - now more proof of the countries endangered future.

Malaysia is a moderate and generally tolerant country. It does not persecute its religious minorities, and it has developed successfully economically so that it can just about be considered a middle-class society. Certainly it is vastly more successful and wealthy than it was 20 years ago. If there's a Muslim population anywhere that should feel happy and content it is in Malaysia. Successful, increasingly rich, Islam afforded a special status in the constitution, Malays given substantial financial, educational, housing and other preferences, persecuted by no one, they should be among the least paranoid people in the Muslim world.

But the results of a new poll of Malaysian Muslims say otherwise. Here are the highlights.

• 73 per cent of Malays, if they could choose only one identity, would choose Muslim first, only 14 per cent would choose Malaysian while 13 per cent would choose Malay. So Islam trumps citizenship, which only just edges out ethnicity.
• 77 per cent believe Malaysians should be allowed to choose their own religion but this is contradicted by a massive 98 per cent believing that Malaysian Muslims should not be allowed to change their religion. Freedom of religion means you don't have to convert to Islam, but if you are a Muslim you should have no right under the law to change your religion under any circumstances. This belief is very widespread throughout the Muslim world.
• 73 per cent said their parents had had the greatest influence on their development as Muslims, an encouraging sign of the strength of indigenous Malay traditions as opposed to contemporary Middle East influences.
• 49 per cent thought the Malaysian Government sufficiently Islamic, but almost as many, 47 per cent, thought it was not sufficiently Islamic.
• 77 per cent do not want Malaysia to become an Islamic state like Iran, but 18 per cent do want Malaysia to become an Islamic state like Iran.
• 57 per cent say Islam and politics should be separate but a substantial 40 per cent say they should be mixed.
• 57 per cent do not want strict hudud laws (stoning for adultery, and so on) implemented in Malaysia but 32 per cent do want hudud laws.
• 60 per cent say non-Muslims should not be subject to hudud laws but nearly a third, 28 per cent, actually want hudud laws to apply to non-Muslims. Similarly, some 31 per cent want sharia (Islamic law) to replace the Malaysian constitution.
• 77 per cent, a staggering figure, believe that Malaysia's existing sharia laws (which govern family matters for Muslims) are not strict enough.
• 76 per cent believe men and women in Islam have equal rights.
• 57 per cent believe wives could disobey husbands to work, but 47 per cent say if the husband forbids work, the wife should obey.
• 97 per cent, encouragingly, believe it is acceptable to live alongside non-Muslims and 79 per cent believe Malays should learn about other religions.
• 62 per cent believe suicide bombings are wrong but a disturbing 12 per cent (the exact mid-point of Pipes's estimated range) support it.
• 1 per cent like the US, 45 per cent dislike it and 39 per cent hate the US.
• 3 per cent like Europe, 38 per cent dislike it and 19 per cent hate Europe.
• 4 per cent like Australia, 37 per cent dislike it and 18 per cent hate Australia.
  
  

This is another example of how the Islamist’s argument that it’s all about Israel and the occupation by infidels of Muslim lands is a smoke screen for their real objective. Bring the world under Islamic law.

Storm Track Infiltration: Muslim Activism By The Numbers

Remember that tiny majority of Mulsim who do not support the Islamist agenda? Not so tiny if you look at the total picture.

It's just a small fringe, a marginal few at best, they tell us, so don't worry about it all too much. One percent or three percent - who cares? Just sit back, enjoy your morning eggs and coffee and have a nice day. But a look at the numbers tells a very different story. The extent of support for global jihad is frightening in its proportions, and the numbers are anything but insignificant.

Let’s run those numbers.

In a poll conducted five months ago, and broadcast on Britain's Channel 4 TV, nearly 25% of British Muslims said the July 7, 2005, terror bombings in London, which killed 52 innocent commuters, were justified. Another 30% said they would prefer to live under strict Islamic Sharia law rather than England's democratic system.

Now, one in four justifying terror may not be a majority, but it certainly isn't a "small fringe" either.

In other countries, the figures are no less unsettling. A survey published in December found that 44% of Nigerian Muslims believe suicide bombing attacks are "often" or "sometimes" acceptable. Only 28% said they were never justified.

According to the annual Pew Global Attitudes Survey, released in July 2006, "roughly one-in-seven Muslims in France, Spain and Great Britain feel that suicide bombings against civilian targets can at least sometimes be justified to defend Islam." The report also found that less than half of Jordan's Muslims believe terror attacks are never justified. In Egypt, only 45% of Muslims say terror is never justified.

 

Still hold the position that a tiny minority is responsible for terrorism and violence or support the Islamist agenda? Then consider this.

On the fifth anniversary of the September 11 attacks, a survey conducted by Al-Jazeera asked respondents, "Do you support Osama Bin-Laden?" A whopping 49.9% answered: yes.

And the July 2006 global Pew survey found that among Muslims, a quarter of Jordanians, a third of Indonesians, 38% of Pakistanis and 61% of Nigerians all expressed confidence in the mass murderer who founded al-Qaida.

In Lebanon six months ago, the Beirut Center for Research and Information found that over 80% of the Lebanese population said they supported Hizbullah.

And do I need also to mention that a majority of Palestinians backed Hamas in parliamentary elections last year?

And what about the non-Arab world? Surely the success of Indonesia and Malaysia where Muslims enjoy a high standard of living would temper any attempts at Islamist infiltration? Wrong again.

As Reuters reported on October 15, just 10 percent of Indonesian Muslims said they backed jihad and supported bomb attacks on the island of Bali aimed at foreign tourists. But Indonesia is home to more than 200 million Muslims, so while 10 percent may sound like a small number percentage-wise, it is actually quite large in absolute terms. It means there are some 20 million Muslims in Indonesia alone who are willing to say out loud that they support the use of violence and terror against innocent human beings.

So what do the numbers tell us? That terrorism is the only jihad that the Islamists use to advance their agenda of Islamatizing the world?

The figures above, taken from a variety of nations, continents and contexts, all point in one very ominous direction. They demonstrate beyond a shadow of a doubt that the global jihadist movement enjoys a wide and broad base of support that extends far beyond just a minuscule number of supporters.

And that far beyond includes the many different types of jihads used by the Islamists – media, litigation, financial, economic, demographic and cultural jihads.

The threat posed by Islamic fundamentalism to Israel and the West can, and must, be met. With determination and a sense of purpose, victory is not out of reach. But the longer we continue to underestimate the extent of the problem, the more difficult it will be to defeat it.

When will we ever get the nerve to actually NAME the enemy? For without that, we can to create strategies to confront and defeat the different jihads that they use.

 

Those are examples of the rising Jihad temperature of for this week. When seen in groups like this, the slow boil becomes obvious.
