Taking the Jihad Temperature - A Gathering Storm Special Series- INTIMIDATION – Part 4

If you throw a frog into boiling water, he will jump out. If you put it in cold water and slowly turn up the heat, he will not notice the rise in temperature and will eventually boil.

The Islamists are boiling our frog and though this blog and hundreds like it record almost daily the rise in the Jihad temperature, unless we see how far and fast the temperature has risen, we will not know how far along our boiling has progressed.

So, the Gathering Storm will be posting only once a week but these weekly posts will take the Jihadist temperature by looking back at news and events over the last two years. Over the next several weeks in the areas of intimidationinfiltrationdisinformation and thoseappeasers and apologists who either knowingly or unknowingly advance the Jihad agenda, the Gathering Storm will show how far our frog has been boiled.

By seeing the boiling water around us, we can see how far the boiling has progressed.

The good news is that we are noticing that the water is getting warmer. There is a glimmer of awareness here - a glimmer of hope there. But we have a long way to go.

Here’s this week’s look back AGAIN at the rising Jihad temperature of INTIMIDATION !! And remember – this is just a sampling of Jihadist Intimidation. More to follow.

Another Cartoonist in Trouble with Islam

What’s with cartoonists these days? Are they some kind of 5th column undermining the peaceful and tolerant religion of Islam – or perhaps, just free speech and satire? Now it’s some poor Bangladeshi cartoonist who’s paying for his right to free speech with a jail sentence. I don’t know how much more of Islamic tolerance I can take.

Bangladeshi authorities Tuesday arrested a cartoonist after drawings that Muslims said insulted their religion were published in a national newspaper, police and the government said.

A Home Ministry statement said Arifur Rahman's sketches — titled "Name" — that came out Monday in a weekly supplement of the Prothom Alo — "hurt the religious sentiments of the people."

The Home Ministry also ordered the confiscation of all copies of the satirical supplement, called "Alpin." The government also urged "all to show restrain over the unwarranted incident."

Prothom Alo authorities apologized for publishing the cartoon and withdrew the supplement.

So what insulted the Muslim sensibilities?

Alpin is one satirical cartoon supplement of the Daily Prothom Alo, which claims to be the most popular Bangla Newspaper in Bangladesh. In the 6th page of its 431th issue a cartoon titled ‘name' was published (on Monday, September 17, 2007) which created much controversy in Bangladesh.

So what was in that cartoon? The controversy is not in the picture, rather in the text.

The text of the cartoon is a conversation between a boy and an aged person. Blogger Sudharam Sadhu posts the texts [bn] in his blog:

* Boy, what is your name?

- My name is Babu.

* It is customary to mention Muhammed before the name.

* What is your father's name?

- Muhammed Abu

* What's this in your lap?

- Muhammed cat

This appears to satire the culture of the use of Muhammed in Muslim names and nothing to disgrace the prophet itself.

Naming a cat after Mohammed? Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. I did have a friend who named his cat Krishna because he sat around all day and looked like he was meditating - but no Hindu sent him hate mail.

Just another sign that Muslims have a hard time living in the 21st century with basic human freedoms.

Now that’s Hutspah!

You know that Swedish artist who drew pictures of Mohammed as a dog? Well, he’s at it again and he says he will not be intimidated by the thuggery Jihad of the Islamists. In fact, Lars Vilks is planning to carry the defense of his free speech a few steps further.

Defying threats, Vilks wants to turn the dog-prophet cartoon row into a musical.

He's offended Muslims worldwide and al-Qaida wants him dead but Swedish artist Lars Vilks said Monday he has no regrets about portraying the Prophet Muhammad as a dog.

Vilks, 61, told The Associated Press he even plans to convert the row over his prophet drawings into a musical, with prominent roles depicting Iran's president, Sweden's prime minister and al-Qaida terrorists.

"A musical comes to mind ... I think it would help the debate," Vilks said after breaking away from a business seminar in southern Sweden.

Good luck on the debate. You don’t have rational discussion with irrational fanatics – or as my grandfather used to say, “You don’t argue with drunkards and fools.”

The eccentric sculptor and academic appeared unfazed by death threats and the risk of rekindling fiery protests that swept across Muslim countries last year against Danish newspaper cartoons of Muhammad.

"Personally I'm not afraid," Vilks said, although he lives in a secret location under police protection. He also admits to looking for bombs underneath his car.

Vilks said Muslims living in the West would have to get used to disrespectful drawings of their religious symbols, "because here in the West we mock everything. I think also the Muslims will understand that this is the system we have and it's not really against Muslims, it's just the principle of being able to insult religions."

The Swedish artist has been known to ruffle the establishment’s feathers before.

In the 1980s he built a sculpture made of driftwood in a nature reserve in southern Sweden without permission, triggering a lengthy legal battle. He was fined, but the seaside sculpture — a jumble of wood nailed together in chaotic fashion — draws tens of thousands of visitors a year.

Ah!! Those crazy artists. What can you do with them?

Islam - The Religion of Peace Speaks

Found this little piece of news over at Up Pompii. When will we learn that with Muslims, voluntary accommodation leads most often to arrogant demands? A Turkish mosque's chief threatens violent revolt in Amsterdam if Amsterdam city council bars construction of the Westermoskee mosque.

If Amsterdam city council bars construction of the Westermoskee mosque, a great demonstration of Turks from throughout Europe will be held. The possibility of this degenerating into violence cannot be ruled out, the Turkish organisation Milli Gorus warns.

The controversial Westermoskee in Amsterdam will be built come what may, said Fatih Dag of the Turkish mosque organisation in Trouw newspaper. If the government blocks its building, Milli Gorus will call on Turks throughout the whole of Europe to demonstrate. Dag hopes this would be a peaceful procession, but fears it could get out of hand. "Our people are emotional and someone crazy can just be walking among them," he said in the newspaper.

There’ the veiled threat of the iron hand in the velvet glove Muslims love to use to intimidate dhimmis.

The building of the 42 metre tall, 18-million euros Neo-Ottoman Westermoskee was blocked months ago after Milli Gorus' orthodox German head office replaced management in Amsterdam. After that, reports surfaced that Milli Gorus had wheedled billions of euros out of Turks since the 1990s by having them invest in Islamic investment funds.

That is, Shari’a compliant investment vehicles - in other words, financial Jihad.

Amsterdam politicians advised against the building of the new Westermoskee in the 1990s for fears of the orthodox course, but after much lobbying, the project was last year dubbed a symbol of integration by the then Justice Minster Donner, who laid the foundation-stone.

I love it. Submission to dhimmitude is “a symbol of integration”. HA!!

"Do not forget", added Dag in Trouw, "that we began the project with a number of Turks, but with all the hindrance, it has now become a matter for many Muslims throughout the Netherlands. I expect a revolt among them, naturally within the legal boundaries, but still: Our people are more emotional than you Europeans. And there can be a crazy person among them."

Only ONE? I won’t comment on that last sentence. You probably spit up your coffee on that one.

Hey Europe? Grow a damn spine?

Muslim Prisoners Sue Over Ham

Do you like
green eggs and ham?

I do not like them,
Sam-I-am.
I do not like
green eggs and ham.

Would you like them
here or there?

I would not like them
here or there.
I would not like them
anywhere.
I do not like
green eggs and ham.

My apologies to Dr. Seuss but Sam-I-Am isn’t the only one who doesn’t like ham. In fact certain parties in Britain are considering suing the government over it.

For some reason incarcerated criminals in the West feel they are entitled so certain privileges and what was once a punishment is more like an alternative lifestyle threes day. Muslims are quick to take advantage of the bleeding hearts who feel prisoners are being unduly treated (what about their victims? Never mind). Combine that heart disease with the mental disease of multiculturalism and you have Muslim prisoners demanding their rights.

Or is it the next round of “See? We’re torturing prisoners, again!”

Muslim prisoners are considering suing the authorities for £2 million after they were offered ham sandwiches to eat during the holy month of Ramadan. The inmates at HMP Leeds, a category B local prison, claim that their human rights have been breached as a result.

And what bout the human rights of their victims?

It said Muslim prisoners had been given "inappropriate" menu cards for their packed lunches but denied that any had actually been given ham sandwiches. A spokesman said: "Guidelines state that prisoners must have a diet which meets the requirements of their religion."

You can hear them now. A mistake! A mistake! How dare you insult a Muslim you little dhimmis! You will pay for this – about £2 million.

Besides – aren’t Muslims suppose to fast during Ramadan?

Don't Bow to the 'Muslim Street'

James Kirchick wrote in a recent issue of the Los Angeles Times and interesting piece about the current Darfur genocide. His argument about ignoring the so called Muslim Street rings true for everything that must be done today to confront the Islamist agenda for world domination.

You know, the whining from the left, the appeasers, apologists and the emasculated sheep who are more concerned with what is politically correct than morally right.. They are always concerned about what the world thinks about our decisions to defend ourselves and win our wars – Hot, Warm, or Cold. From Hiroshima to Vietnam to Serbia to Kuwait to Afghanistan and Iraq, the same group of sheep whines continuously.

Though most of the article is about actions that should be taken by the US ins spite of the reaction from the Muslim Street, there are lessons to be learned in what he says for other morally right actions our country is, and should be, taken.

Americans are frequently told that the Iraq war has "inflamed the Muslim world." Just a few months after the conflict began, Andrew Kohut, president of the Pew Research Center, used this exact phrase to describe the war's effect on global Muslim opinion. Former Secretary of State Colin L. Powell said the continued occupation of Iraq has led to "an increase in anti-Americanism in the Muslim world." New York Times columnist Bob Herbert complains about the "bitter anger that (the Iraq war) has provoked among Muslims around the world." And on and on it goes.

Indeed, it is this consequence of the Iraq war — negative public opinion among Muslims — that its critics believe to be the most devastating for America's global standing. The major lesson that many have taken from our Iraq experience is that we should place much greater stock in worldwide public opinion — particularly Muslim opinion — when deciding foreign policy.

Yet there could not be worse criteria on which to determine our foreign policy. This is starkly illustrated by the controversy about how to help stop the genocide in Darfur.

The same goes for any of our foreign policy. Until Muslims get on the right side of the issue concerning their radical brothers and sisters and making it widely and easily known through anti-Islamist organizations and individual action, their ‘concerns on the street’ should be entirely ignored.

There are lots of things that "anger" the "Muslim street:" Women not wearing burkas. Adults drinking alcohol. Homosexuals. But virtually no one seriously suggests that we make America less free in order to suit the tastes of the Muslim world. So why should we let something as nebulous and reactionary as "Muslim opinion" get in the way of preventing genocide in Sudan?

Right on! This is the morally right way to carry out foreign policy in this country.

To be sure, global public opinion should play some role in shaping our foreign policy. But at the end of the day, the value of U.S. action abroad is not determined by the opinions of those most likely to "take offense," but rather by the inherent rightness or wrongness of the action. And if we're going to judge our interventions based on the criteria of "public opinion" at all, we should first and foremost consider the views of the intended beneficiaries.

No need to say more. Hear that Condoleezza? Probably not. She’s too busy doing the politically correct thing in Annapolis, right now.

Muslim Students File Human Rights Complaint Against University

Now, normally universities and colleges in the West are in bed with Islam and can’t do enough to accommodate Muslim students. But there are some things even a dhimmi will refuse to do.

In this case, a decision by McGill University to expand classroom and laboratory space. It seems at McGill, education trumps ‘religious tolerance’.

In 2004, the Muslim Students’ Association (MSA) was evicted from its prayer space in the basement of the Peterson Hall, a building primarily used by students.

The university’s reason for the eviction was that the school needed the space to expand classroom and laboratory space.

A representative from McGill could not be reached for comment at time of press.

This move, however, left the thousands of Muslim Students at McGill without a location to hold spiritual rituals and ceremonies.

Upon evicting them, the university advised the Muslim students to seek an outside location for prayer.

According to Sana Saeed, a student at McGill and a member of the MSA, finding an outside location would have been costly and unnecessary.

“As Muslims, all we desired was an adequately-sized room, which would allow us to pray during the times we’d be on campus,” she said.

She said the Muslim students at McGill believe having prayer space at the university is a basic right they are entitled to.

Ah yes. That Muslim entitlement again. Let’s hear that again? A religious right at a public institution? Is this how Canada separates Church and State? Of does it?

But students at McGill have another possible option: a multi-faith centre. Some Canadian are handling the new diversity of students and their spiritual interests with large, multi-faith facilities.

These are buildings that are designed to be big enough to accommodate large gatherings of followers. Buildings such as these are already in place at some of Canada’s largest universities, including the University of Toronto and Dalhousie University.

“The university administrators at the St. George campus have done much to provide space for religious and spiritual practice on campus” said Ilyas Ally, a third-year student at U of T and vice-president (brothers) of the university’s Muslim Students’ Association.

Saeed said although in the past MSA McGill has fought for a multi-faith prayer space, the situation has now changed.

“[MSA] needs a prayer space three to four times out of five times a day,” she said. “We don’t want to create a monopoly over a multi-faith space or make others feel uncomfortable.”

Gee. The other faiths don’t seem to have that ‘concern’. Or is it that Muslims don’t want to soil their religious traditions by associating with non-Muslim.

Group Critical of Germany’s Stand Against Islam Minarets

If Europe goes Islamic, at least it might go down swinging. Chancellor Angela Merkel is a much better defender of German culture than her predecessor. Merkel and fellow conservatives in Bavaria have been speaking out about the appearance of minarets in Germany. Local residents are not happy over plans to build mosques in Berlin, Munich and Cologne.

A German Muslim group criticized Chancellor Angela Merkel on Thursday for suggesting that mosque minarets should not be higher than church steeples, saying it hoped this topic would not be used as a campaign issue.

Merkel, a Lutheran pastor's daughter who grew up in communist East Germany, told a congress of her conservative Christian Democrats that "we must take care that mosque cupolas are not built demonstratively higher than church steeples".

Local residents agree.

Mrs. Schandl, a 67-year-old Bavarian, is leading a fierce campaign to halt plans to build a mosque in a working-class district here. “It is a provocation,” she said of the mosque, which would sit across a graceful square from her Roman Catholic church — its minarets an exotic counterpoint to the church’s neo-baroque steeples. “The mosque doesn’t have anything to do with religion,” she said. “It is a power play.”

A vocal minority of residents has resisted, holding protest meetings, collecting signatures, and filing a petition with the Bavarian Parliament. “Bavarian life,” the petition declares, “is marked by the drinking of beer and the eating of pork. In Muslim faith, both are unclean and forbidden.”

And why would Muslims want to build a mosque next to a church?

For Onder Yildiz, a soft-spoken but intense leader of the Turkish community, the answer is simple: “A mosque next to a church helps intensify dialogue between the religions,” he said.

OK, dialogue. But why modify the word with intensive’? What does he think is going to happen? It’s important to note how Muslims use words. Sometimes they convey more than what they seem to on the surface.

Like the word ‘innocent’. Here’s a personal experience as told by Robert Spencer. He was riding in a cab to some lecture he was doing years ago and saw that the cab driver was middle-eastern. He asked the driver if he was a Muslim. He said yes. Spencer asked why Muslim suicide bombers kill innocent people. The cab driver replied that it was against the Koran to kill innocent people – except if they’re Jews. To Muslims, the word innocent does not apply to everyone. There is a pecking order of innocence.

The American Indians had a saying. “Beware of those who speak with fork tongue.”

Are the Libs Really Doing Muslims Any Good?

Cruising the Web one day looking for material, I ran across a post at the Daily Pundit which got me thinking. The blogger there doesn’t pull any punches and says it like it is about appeasing Muslims.

As we proceed further down the road of appeasing these goat-fellators, I fear we are sealing their fate, and in the end, the surviving remnant of “reformed (civilized) Islam” will be less than fifty percent of what Islam 1.0 was before the Reckoning.

Hmmm. That’s a different way of looking at the appeasement problem. In reality the more we appease them- the more you give into the whining child throwing a hissy fit – the more Muslims are actually doing themselves harm.

If the multiculturalist PC crowd really cared about the Imperialist West’s injustice to the poor distraught Muslims they would see that they aren’t doing them any favors bowing to each and very demand. In fact, it’s hurting their cause just as the anti-jihadists who blog on the problem see it so clearly.

Here’s the latest on Muslim appeasement.

The city museum of The Hague has decided not to include in an exhibition a work of art that may offend Muslims, it was reported on Monday.

The picture, made by Iranian artist Sooreh Hera, is entitled Adam and Ewald and shows two gay men wearing masks of the Muslim prophet Mohammed and his son-in-law Ali.

The Gemeentemuseum's director Wim van Krimpen told reporters the museum is interested in purchasing Hera's complete series, which he called "high quality works of art".

However, he added he will not exhibit Adam and Ewald in the next few years because "certain people in our society might perceive it as offensive".

Hera responded she was "disappointed" and added "apparently a Muslim minority decides what will be on display in the museum".

Get used to it Sooreh Hera. That’s life in the PC lane. But if you showed two men in the midst of a homosexual act wearing masks of Jesus Christ or Buddha or Moses, you’re work would be celebrated and critically acclaimed.

You’re not going to be famous stylizing Muslim characters in art – unless you want a fatwa put out you.

Muslim Cajones – If You Can’t Beat ‘Em, Sue ‘Em

There are many reasons why one team beats another. Better players, better game tactics, even the loosing team having an off day.

This Muslim soccer team had an off day because …. The other team wore a cross on their uniform. Is there no limit to the stupidity of some Muslims? Hat tip to Vito Vaccaro.

"A Turkish lawyer has filed a complaint to Uefa after Inter wore a shirt with an offensive symbol, at least to Islamic culture, in their recent match against Fenerbahce.

A Turkish lawyer who's an expert on European law, Baris Kaska, is asking Uefa to cancel the three points Inter earned in their win against Fenerbahce in the recent Champions League match.

The Nerazzurri had beaten the Turkish champions 3-0 at home to qualify for the next round of the Champions League.

The reason for the appeal is unusual: the celebratory shirt for Inter's centenary worn by the team that night, and on several other occasions this season, offended many people in Turkey.

The shirt's scheme saw a big red cross on a white background, a symbol of the city of Milan, and reminded many of an emblem of the order of the Templars, which is considered offensive in Islamic culture.

Inter consciously did not wear their 'centenary shirt' in their first match against Fenerbahce in Istanbul, but at home, they did not think it was necessary to do the same.

However, the very sensitive Turkish media reacted bitterly and that led to the official appeal filed by Kaska, who announced this decision during an interview to Barcelona daily La Vanguardia."

If you can’t win fair and square and Allah has forsaken you, then play the offended victim card. Is it any wonder that Muslims are seen in state of perpetual arrested development?

The Religion of Peace in Action

Indonesia, that model Islamic nation of tolerance of its many religions, saw fit to increase security ahead of the Christmas holiday last week.

Was it because so many shoppers at he stores looking for bargains carried the threat rioting? Or perhaps Christians, feeling their superiority with their holiday, intimidated the other religions practiced in Indonesia?

Nope. It seems that some Muslims in this Islamic dominated country can’t stand the sight of Christmas decoration and Santa Clause or hear the sounds of Christmas carols heralding peace on earth and good will towards men. It sticks in their craw.

Officials have tightened security at churches, malls, and tourism sites as Christians prepare to celebrate Christmas in Indonesia, a secular nation with the world's largest population of Muslims.

More soldiers and policemen are visible, bags are checked at entrances and exits, and cars are checked for the possible carrying of explosive devices.

As the strains of Christmas music play at this mall in Jakarta, Ika brings her young child to see Santa Claus. She says security is always a concern during Christmas, but she is confident all necessary precautions have been taken.

So who’s the Muslim Grinch that steals the holiday cheer in this nation?

The Southeast Asia terrorist network Jemaah Islamiyah, or JI, has been blamed for a series of bombings in Indonesia that have claimed the lives of over 200 people.

These attacks include the church bombings across the country on Christmas Eve in 2000, the bombing of the JW Mariott Hotel and outside the Australian embassy in Jakarta in 2004, and the bombings in Bali in 2002 and 2005.

Officials say the extra security forces, which include extra police and military personnel, will remain in place until after the New Year celebration.

Just another example of Muslim ‘tolerance’ that such security measures must be installed in a Muslim dominated state.

Muslim Appeasers at Work

OK. You’re soldier returning home after serving your country in war zone, risking your life and limb to protect your fellow countrymen. You arrive straight from the front wearing your combat gear not letting anything stand in your way of quickly returning home.

But by a quirk of fate, you arrive in part of your country that is as alien as the battle front you came from and in order for you to continue on your journey home you are ordered to remove all signs that you were a soldier serving your country.

Crazy, right? Not for today’s British soldiers.

In an extraordinary incident, 200 British soldiers who were on their way back from serving their country in Afghanistan were diverted from RAF Brize Norton to Birmingham International because of the weather. At someone’s instance they were forced to change on the tarmac apron from their desert camouflage into civilian dress before being allowed into the airport buildings.

The soldiers at Birmingham were told by the pilot that their baggage was being unloaded on to the runway and that they must reclaim it, dig out their own clothes and remove their desert combat kit before they could proceed into the airport building.

Many will suspect that this order came from the Airport management who will have doubtless been cowering under their desks in fear at the reaction of some of their customers at the sight of an Army Unit in full kit emerging, happy and relaxed into their midst.

As Birmingham International serves a cachement area with a sizeable Muslim Minority, you can bet your boots (size twelve, hob-nailed) that some Jobsworth did much pursing of his lips as he contemplated the inflaming or appeasing of this small portion of the public using the place before reaching instantly for the ‘appease’ button. Why upset the paying public when you can shove around some compliant squaddies instead?

This story exemplifies the mealy-mouthed appeasement by some gutless elements in our society of a small portion of our population, some of whom have only been here five minutes and who do not exactly hold dear British Values and British Institutions. We should stop doing this and tell them to like it or lump it, preferably somewhere else.

The tyranny of the Muslim minority goes on unabated. When will Great Britain wake up and regain its greatness.

Those are examples of the rising Jihad temperature of for this week. When seen in groups like this, the slow boil becomes obvious.

Next week another look back at the rising Jihad temperature of Islamist INFILTRATION!!
