Storm Track Appeasement: How to Kill a Nation From Within

Lincoln said that over 200 years ago about America. The Brits today are living it out. According to Labour’s Institute for Public Policy Research, Christmas should be downgraded in favor of festivals from other religions to improve race relations in Britain.

But that’s only half of what the leaked report recommends to bring forth the multicultural utopia of the socialist secular Left. The question is, in the words of one of my readers, “Have the BRITS lost their marbles which slipped out through the holes in their skulls?”

Labour's favourite think-tank says that because it would be hard to "expunge" Christmas from the national calendar, 'even-handedness' means public organisations must start giving other religions equal footing.

The leaked findings of its investigation into identity, citizenship and community cohesion also propose:

• "Birth ceremonies", at which state and parents agree to "work in partnership" to bring up children

• Action to "ensure access" for ethnic minorities to "largely white" countryside

• An overhaul of Britain's "imperial" honours system

• Bishops being thrown out of the House of Lords

• An end to "sectarian" religious education

• Flying flags other than the Union Jack.

The report robustly defends multiculturalism - the idea that different communities should not be forced to integrate but should be allowed to maintain their own culture and identities.

WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! Multiculturalists do not understand that a nation should promote UNIVERSAL VALUES not multicultural one. If a nation is to survive then it must discover what their people have in common not what makes them different. What brings them together not pulls them apart.

The balkanization of a nation will destroy it. When will they ever learn this basic lesson of cultural survival? This may well be Britain’s’ epitaph.

"If we are going to continue as a nation to mark Christmas - and it would be very hard to expunge it from our national life even if we wanted to - then public organisations should mark other religious festivals too.

"We can no longer define ourselves as a Christian nation, nor an especially religious one in any sense.

"The empire is gone, church attendance is at historically low levels, and the Second World War is inexorably slipping from memory."

The report adds: "Any liberal state should recast the civic oaths and national ceremonies, or institutions like Parliament and the monarchy, in a more multi-religious or secular form and make religious education less sectarian."

The presence of bishops in the House of Lords, for instance, is condemned as an "anachronism" that should be removed.

My God! Downgrading Christmas and no longer a Christian nation that upholds 4000 years of Judeo-Christian values – and throwing the lessons of World War II on the trash heap is the end of a once great nation that stood as bulwark against tyranny.

And while you’re at it, toss out the symbol of the monarchy and remove any semblance of the Christian religion in politics.

But some do protest. I guess there's a limit to multiculturalism even Muslims can't tolerate.

Sayeeda Warsi, the Conservative spokesman on community cohesion, said: "Their comments betray a breathtaking misunderstanding of what it is to be British. These proposals could actually damage cohesion."

She added: "You don't build community cohesion by throwing out our history and denying the fundamental contribution Christianity has played and does play to our nation.

"As a British Muslim I can see that - so why others can't just staggers me."

And she attacked ceremonies to mark the registration of a baby.

"The thought of Gordon Brown sharing responsibility with me for bringing up my children sends a shiver down my spine. I thought we got rid of communism?"

Do you think such idiocy can happen here in the USA? You don’t believe that Christmas can be downplayed here as the first phase of a multiculturalist paradise? It can’t happen here – right?

BUZZ! WRONG!!

Beginning with last year's controversy over a Menorah display, Fort Collins' holiday displays will be "festive" but decidedly less "Christmas-y" this year--a "secular winter celebration incorporating cultural and religious differences. In order to avoid controversy and not offend anyone, Christmas elements will be deemphasized in favor of celebrating Fort Collins' "diversity"--blue and white lights instead of red and green.

Who is responsible for the recommendations? Why Fort Collins' own "holiday display task force"--17 "religious, cultural, and legal experts". Holiday-by-committee will render the already watered-down displays into meaningless "winter symbols" when they issue their recommendation to the city council in the coming weeks.

We’re in a war for our cultural values.
