Winds of War: Fighting Back - The Resistance Is Growing

Several times over the last couple of months, I have received emails praising the works of the anti-jihadist bloggers. But in the emails and blog comments there is also the sense of frustration that something must be done about the Islamist threat and not just talk about it.

It’s been six years since 9-11 and as time passes on, its memory diminished while the colophony of appeasing and apologist voices has increased. To many this seems like a retreat from the lessons learned by 9-11 and the defeatists and appeasers in our political leadership, mains stream media and institutions seem to be ruling the day. “Where is the resistance by the general public?” “Why haven’t we learned the lessons of 9-11?” “Where is the progress in confronting the Islamo-fascist ideology?” “Why isn’t the obvious threat seen and reported by the main stream media?” “Where is the leadership?”

“It’s been six years? Where’s the progress against those who seek to rob us of our freedoms and kill us if we don’t submit?”

There is reason – and now there’s a growing organizational resistance.

First the reason. Before 9-11 there was very little awareness or even and understanding of Islam by non-Muslims. I know myself and just about every anti-jihadist blogger out there today had to teach themselves about the nature of Islam and how it has became a threat to the civilized world. We had to go from almost complete ignorance – previously blinded by apologist books, articles, speakers and organizations on Islam and political leaders who assured us that Islam was a religion of peace – to teaching what we have learned about the true nature of Islam and it propensity for radicalism to those in the bloggospher that would listen.

Going from ignorance to understanding to activists to teachers in 6 years is no small task while at the same time fighting those who would support the Islamist agenda with disinformation while nurturing the useful idiots who would apologize and appease for the Islamists in the name of political correctness and multiculturalism.

When I become frustrated with the slow pace, I have to tell myself that the growth of resistance takes time. The good news is that the organizational resistance, not just the personal kind, is growing. Here are just some of the growing resistance movements that have come online over the last 6 months or so.

The Society of Americans for National Existence or SANE
The Society of Americans for National Existence or SANE is what its name declares: a society of sane Americans dedicated to preserving and strengthening America’s national existence. By national existence we mean what you normally mean when speaking of such matters. America is a unique people bound together through a commitment to America’s Judeo-Christian moral foundation and to an enduring faith and trust in G-d and in His Providence.

Mapping Shari'a in America
To conduct an extensive mapping of all the Islamic day schools, mosques, and other identifiable organizations in the US and to determine which ones teach or preach Islamic law, Shari’a. Further, the mapping will scale the Shari’a threat by identifying to which school of jurisprudence it belongs, its historical and contemporary call for Jihad, and whether the Jihad includes violent Jihad against non-believers. This investigation will also map the leadership of these Muslim organizations and their other affiliations. We will also attempt to uncover any related businesses used or run by the organizations as fronts for money laundering and other illicit activities.

Finally, we will examine and map any potential targets situated near these organizations, such as city, county, and federal government buildings, schools and universities, US military installations, major utility or infrastructure sites (i.e., nuclear installations, pipelines, water supply, etc.), and transportation hubs.

Roundup Of Western Government-Enforced Dhimmitude
This is a categorized roundup of domestic and international acts of "official" dhimmitude --- submission by governments, and the agencies and institutions they control, to the intimidation and demands of radical Islamists (most often disguised as "civil rights" activists) --- that isn't available anywhere else.

From "official" acts that enable militant Islamism, to ostracizing or prosecuting anyone who criticizes or opposes it, to whitewashing the reality of it, to looking the other way when one's culture is being progressively balkanized and subverted by it, this blogpost links you to information that is vital to understanding the true depth and breadth of this phenomenon, both here in the U.S. and elsewhere.

The Center for Vigilant Freedom
There mission is to protect liberty, counter sharia laws that oppose human rights, and defeat terrorist and extremist ideologies.

Non-partisan, non-discriminatory, and open to all who are ready to join with their fellow citizens in the mutual defense of human rights and constitutional liberties. Our members encompass many religious beliefs, including Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, apostates, agnostics and atheists, all races, ages and genders, at least 21 nationalities, and a wide range of opinion on political and social issues. Our members include many bloggers and journalists, private investigators, lawyers, leaders of coalition groups, veterans, professional online researchers, translators of Arabic, Farsi and many other languages, professionals in a wide variety of technological fields, teachers, scholars, documentary producers, health professionals, local police, musicians, business executives, homemakers, artists - ordinary people who are joining together to protect our laws, our democracies and our freedoms from radical Islamist ideologies.

SIOE - Stop the Islamisation of Europe
Stop Islamisation Of Europe (SIOE) is an alliance of people across Europe with the single aim of preventing Islam becoming a dominant political force in Europe.

It originated with the joining of Stop Islamificering Af Danmark (SIAD), a political party dedicated to stopping the Islamisation in Denmark, with a loose association of people in England, whose rallying cry is “No Sharia Here”, who want to maintain English law and want to stop the creeping growth of sharia law in England. SIOE is growing in Europe with the amalgamation of similarly minded groups.

Finally, there are organizations created by Muslims themselves to combat Islamism and their objectives.

American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AIFD)
American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AIFD) was formed in March of 2003 by a group of Muslim professionals in the Phoenix Valley of Arizona. The group's founder is M. Zuhdi Jasser, M.D. He felt that AIFD could formally articulate the fact that in commentary and scholarship that many Muslims believe that they are able to practice their faith more freely and more Islamically (in a personal and secular fashion which is most suited to preserve one's faith) in America than in any other place in the world.

AIFD seeks to make a small contribution to the body of thought which articulates an understanding of Islam which separates religion and state and is in complete harmony with the U.S. Constitution and our citizenship pledge. Through these founding principles of constitutional, secular (religious freedom free of theocracy and government coercion, and Islamic hegemony), AIFD would also serve as an example of an American Islamic institution which can be a leading voice for liberty-minded Muslims in America in the war on terror.

We should all watch and support personally and in our blogs these organizations.

Viva la resistance!

  • A great post WC. Progress is indeed taking place in the counter jihad movement and it is occurring across the globe.

In the Western world we are rapidly awakening and there are different stimuli that facilitate this awakening. Furthermore it is very much like the movie 'The Matrix' in that when you have been 'awakened' there is no going back to your previous state of ignorance and complacency.

My own 'red pill' was not 911 but the Danish Cartoons crisis. After 911 I was still a socialist so still suffered from the short-sightedness that typifies many people of that stripe. I was outraged by the blatant assault on the sacred and deeply held values of Western Civilisation. We were confronted by people not just asking for respect but demanding it while offering none in return. After all freedom of expression is just as sacred to the Western public as any tract of the Koran or utterance of the Islamic Prophet is to Muslims.

Every time Islamists try to move forward to extend their grip on the West, the more people will have their 'red pill' moment and stand solid to resist them. The examples that you cite are perfect manifestations of this process and with time we will only grow stronger. The more Islamists demand the more Westerners they will offend and the harder it will be for them to achieve their goal for global dominion.

Global resistance to Islamism is moving forward by leaps and bounds and our movement is growing stronger and more confident with every day. Even the British establishment seems to be stirring, if the Knighthood of Salman Rushdie is anything to go by. Perhaps the British establishment has had its own 'red pill moment' and is finally awake. I hope so - as a UK citizen I have seen how far my country has fallen into a tendency for appeasement and apology. The tide now seems, thankfully, to be turning in many ways.

In Europe those of us involved in the counter jihad work are establishing contacts and networks that span the European continent. We have people in the west, people in the east, the north and the south. We are growing all the time and have the makings of a powerful political movement. In one year's time we will have even more political power and we will not reduce our efforts until we have secured the future of our civilisation.

I personally have met other members of our growing community face to face. They come from different countries and our movement is most certainly international in both its focus and its membership. In April of this year I was privileged to attend the 'UK and Scandinavia Counter Jihad Summit' that took place in Copenhagen. We all got on so well it was as if we had know each other for years. I now consider members of the counter jihad community not just friends but old friends and even regard them as members of my own family. We are united in a common bond to protect our civilisation from tyranny and we will stand shoulder to shoulder in our future efforts.

    This is just the beginning.

  • Bravo WC and Thank you.

I REALLY needed to read this.
    Great post by the way.

And, ironically Salmon Rushdie getting a Knighthood was also a timely Pièce de résistance.

  • Keep up the great work, WC. I just listened to your interview (with Always on Watch) with David Yerushalmi re mapping sharia. Because so many of our leaders are compromised by policial correctness when confronting the radical islamists, the movement to expose and challenge the islamists has to come from the bottom up (although I do feel this will eventually become a politically popular issue if presented correctly).

  • WC,
The progress has been slow, but I do see the pace of the counter-jihad picking up now.

My husband didn't fully get it right after 9/11, but the cartoonifada brought him to alert.

  • We are all doing our bit in this struggle, the Center for Vigilant Freedom, SIOE, Mapping Shari’a, etc. What we must consider, as individuals and as members of our numerous emerging groups, is what we can do we do personally to take our cause forward. Alone we have very little political power, but together across the countries and continents of our world we are a very powerful and potent political movement. We all have something to offer and it is time for people to step forward and offer what skills and experience they have for the greater good of humanity. This is not a struggle just for the groups that were mentioned in the excellent article on this blog, but one for everyone who values the principles of liberty and freedom. Don’t ask what can be done, but ask what you can do to become an active and valued participant in this noble and virtuous cause. The counter jihad movement is of great historical importance and we all can help out. What can you contribute?

The Gathering Storm radio show is very impressive and an example to others, particularly in Europe which does not seem to be as well covered in this area of media. It helps broaden the blogosphere to the spoken word and thereby bring our message to yet more people who are ready to wake up from their complacency. In addition to considering what we can do as individuals we need to be fully engaged in the process of networking with people of a similar mind across the globe. The spoken word, the written word and the visual image must be brought together by the people engaged in our historic efforts, the people that represent the heart and soul of our movement.

Is it now time to come forward and offer your services to the counter jihad movement?
